Preliminary measures have been undertaken under the auspices of the Moreton Bay Regional Council, the Samford Branch of the RSL, and the Rotary Club of Samford Valley to establish an Avenue of Honour at an appropriate location within the Samford district. The purpose is to honour the ultimate sacriface of 20 Samford residents in the two World Wars and the Korean war, and to commemorate the ANZAC centenary in April 2015.
In order for this development to be invested with appropriate sanctity and historical accord, it is intended that members of the local community should be consulted at every stage of the process.
